#ICYMI – Lainey Wilson takes home a huge prize at the Country Music Association Awards.

In case you missed it, Lainey Wilson, a singer-songwriter from the United States,

received two awards at the Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday night, including new artist of the year.

The annual event, held in Nashville, Tennessee, and broadcast on ABC TV, recognizes "excellence within country music."

Wilson dedicated her award in her acceptance speech to "that nine-year-old little girl who wrote her first song, who knew in her heart that this is what she was supposed to do."

Wilson arrived at the CMA Awards with the most nominations of any artist.

She was also named female vocalist of the year.

Luke Combs, a country music singer, was the night's other big prize

He was named performer of the year.
