Jets are reportedly looking to trade a $2 Super Bowl champion and $4 million.

The New York Jets are considering calling an audible at the line of scrimmage.

ESPN NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler earlier tweeted that Gang Green is "looking at options for Mecole Hardman," which might include a trade.

Hardman was a healthy scratch against the Denver Broncos in Week 5 on Sunday, according to Fowler,

and "has not been in the plans" despite signing a deal to come to New York this offseason.

He agreed to a one-year contract at $4 million with incentives worth up to $5.5 million. The Jets,

according to Fowler, "can find him a new home and more playing time" before the trade deadline.

Hardman, 25, spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hardman won two Super Bowls and was an intriguing element on the attacking side of the ball.

During that period, he had 151 receptions for 2,088 yards and scored 18 total touchdowns. However, he has not had the same kind of success in New York.

According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, Hardman has appeared in four of the five games this season but has only played 24 total snaps.
