Keanu Reeves Recalls Preparing For ‘John Wick 3’

Keanu Reeves' preparation process for his role in John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum was a unique one, as he explained to reporters.

Reeves described how he prepared for the title role by essentially becoming John Wick through his performances in the two previous John Wick movies.

He recognized that to truly understand John Wick's character, he needed to immerse himself in the role over an extended period.

This meant participating in the production of two previous feature-length films that provided the backstory

And development necessary for his character's journey in the third installment.

Reeves humorously mentioned that initially, he questioned the idea of taking a character's backstory so seriously,

considering it might be pretentious and unnecessary. However, he adopted this method after receiving a recommendation from Matt Damon,

In the end, Reeves highlighted the importance of finding what works best for each actor's preparation process.

Some actors may follow established techniques like Stanislavski or Meisner, while others,

like Reeves, might opt for a more immersive approach that involves participating in multiple films to fully inhabit a character.
