It's also not a matter of opinion. A flag should be thrown if a player willingly removes his helmet on the field.
However, the refs did not. In fact, they appeared to be showing Sneed as much tolerance as possible at the time.
It's worth remembering that this would not have resulted in a Vikings first down. However, it would have moved the Chiefs' next possession back 15 yards, which is critical in one-score games.
