Some college athletes have fared better than others during the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) era.
Olivia Dunne, a gymnast for LSU, is currently the queen of NIL, according to a prominent NIL collective director who made this declaration in front of Congress.
Ole Miss collective director Walker Jones took the witness stand earlier this morning to open the 10th Congressional hearing on NIL.
When asked by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) which athlete currently makes the most money through NIL, Jones mentioned Dunne, a senior at LSU.
Earlier this fall, Dunne and fellow LSU women's basketball player Angel Reese were both featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
Regarding her celebrity status and lack of wealth, Dunne said, "People definitely discredit what I do."
"People need to realize that everything I have earned has been earned through hard work.
. Brands pay me for what they think is worth the reach of the demographic I offer after investing years in growing my audience.
