Tom Brady Responds Directly on Whether the Jets Called Him to Return

There has been much conjecture that the New York Jets may approach newly retired quarterback Tom Brady about a possible football comeback.

Brady was asked about the rumors on the "Let's Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray" podcast on Monday, September 18.

Jim Gray asked Brady whether the Jets had phoned him and if he was thinking about signing with them.

According to Jake Asman of ESPN 98.7 in New York, "the Jets seemingly called Tom Brady about coming out of retirement based on how Brady answered the question here..."On the other hand,

NFL reporter Dov Kleiman stated that Brady "shut it [the Jets rumors] down quickly."Last season, the Jets were a quarterback away from being a playoff contender, if not more.

Gang Green attempted to address that issue this offseason by acquiring future Pro Football Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers tore his Achilles four plays into his Jets career, ruling him out for the rest of the 2023 season. Meanwhile, the Jets have returned to third-year quarterback Zach Wilson.

So far, Wilson has failed to live up to his billing as the former No. 2 overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft. Last season, the Jets' great squad and defense were squandered due to quarterback issues.
