Netflix has been streaming Outlander for some time now, but in the grand scheme of things, is still two seasons behind.
With season six confirmed, let’s take a look at when we now WILL see season 4 added and when season 5 could drop, too.
Outlander, for those who haven’t watched it yet, follows an English combat nurse from the Second World War who is transported back to the 1700s. The series itself is based on the novel series and has been nominated for multiple awards.
Although the series popularity, at least based on viewing figures, peaked with season 3, it still is one of Starz most-watched titles.
The series Netflix is missing is season 4. Based on the novel ‘Drums of Autumn’, season 4 aired from November 2018 to January 2019.
season 5 then aired from February 2020 to May 2020. A sixth season has been commissioned and is expected to air in 2021.
It’s important to note that it isn’t Starz that licenses Outlander to Netflix. In fact, it’s Sony Pictures who owns and sells the show to Starz to broadcast and in the US, Netflix to stream after its window on Starz is up.
On December 28th, 2020 Netflix announced via its Netflix Queue account that the fourth season would arrive on Netflix on January 27th, 2020.
